Tech that Protects: Invite your MP to a drop-in

Every child should be safe from online sexual abuse. IJM is holding a drop-in event in Parliament for MPs to learn more about the problem of livestreamed child sexual abuse – and the tech that can prevent it.

MPs are more likely to attend if their constituents ask them to, so we need your help.

The UK is in the top three global consumers of livestreamed child sexual abuse, according to the UK National Crime Agency. Right now, sex offenders in the UK are exploiting children without even leaving their homes and fuelling demand for livestreamed child abuse – the main form of commercial sexual exploitation of children.

This horrific abuse is happening on everyday social media platforms, facilitated through devices like smartphones, tablets, and laptops.

IJM UK is advocating for the UK Government to protect children by legislating to require all devices sold in the UK to include on-device safeguards that can detect and prevent livestreamed child sexual abuse.
Invite your MP today and help us put a stop to the abuse before it starts.
